Editorial Policy

Every “Editor’s Take” block on a movie or TV page, every entry in our Guides section, and every article in our newsroom is written by a named person on our editorial desk. Original writing includes our verdicts, who a title is for, what to expect, content notes and the reason behind each pick in a list.

Cast lists, runtimes, release dates, posters, backdrops, genre tags and plot synopses come from The Movie Database (TMDB) and the streaming-availability providers TMDB aggregates. That material is clearly presented as reference data and is never passed off as our own writing. WebCineHub is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Editorial pages carry a byline that links to an author profile with that person’s background and areas of coverage. Where a page has been re-checked after publication, we show a “Reviewed” date. If a page carries no byline, it is database content rather than editorial content.

Editors write about titles they have watched. We do not publish a verdict on an unreleased film; for upcoming titles we publish only what is confirmed, clearly separated from reporting we cannot verify. We do not generate reviews, ratings or opinions automatically, and we do not publish machine-written commentary as human editorial.

Member reviews and ratings are the opinions of the people who wrote them, are labelled as such, and are kept visually separate from editorial commentary. They are moderated against our Community Guidelines. We never write reviews on behalf of members.

Personalised rows such as “For You” are produced by our recommendation system from your own favourites, watchlist, ratings and recently viewed titles, and each row states why it was shown. These are algorithmic suggestions, not editorial endorsements. Nobody can pay to appear in them.

WebCineHub is funded by advertising and affiliate links. Ad units are labelled, and outbound links to streaming services or retailers that may earn us a commission are marked as sponsored where they appear. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over our verdicts, rankings, guide picks or news coverage, and no payment can change a title’s placement. News items name their sources and separate confirmed facts from unconfirmed reports. Where a story develops, we add dated updates rather than silently rewriting the page.

We do not accept payment for coverage, for a place in a guide, or for a higher rating. If a title has any commercial relationship with WebCineHub, that relationship is disclosed on the page where it appears.
