This was about two guys who were both in the closet who manage to come together during high school. One is a rather lackluster student who basically puts no effort into his studies and he dreams of being a rock star, but even there his musical talent is limited. The other is the son of famous singers going through a divorce and he is trying to escape the press. They become fast friends and then it evolves into something more. While this is a cute romance for them with a happy ending, it isn't really much of a gay story - or least the gay aspects weren't the main story. The 'gay' parts of the story were basically only in two scenes with a third non-talking scene at the end of the movie.
