Two and One

This is about the main character, with some emotional baggage, who finds a boyfriend and they begin dating. A problem arises when they go to spend their first night together and learn that they are both strictly tops. They decide to open their relationship and take in a third and that works for a while, but everything falls apart and they break up and go their separate ways. Does it have a happy ending? (Spoilers) The main character is happy and in a much better place mentally and emotionally and he's repaired a lot of damage to other relationships, but the one he couldn't fix was with his boyfriend and they don't get back together.
