Hyeon-jeong's sister is missing and she fears for the worst. Via her sister's cellphone, Hyeon-jeong learns that her sister stayed in a countryside vaillage. She goes to the village to find her sister and stops at the local police station for help. Because of the little evidence she has, the police refuse to offer help.

This film is based on a true story about a 70-year-old fisherman who kidnapped and murdered four women in 2007 in South Korea. The plot is straightforward and focuses mainly on Pan Gon, a seemingly kind but secretly psychopathic old man, with limited perspectives from the victims. While the characters are well-portrayed, the movie lacks adrenaline-pumping moments and deeper background on both the killer and his victims, making some parts feel flat. The story’s structure is clear and easy to follow, but the film misses a stronger emotional connection to the victims and a more dominant counterpart to Pan Gon’s character.
