Pavel Filonov is one of the most mysterious artists of the 20th century. Filonov's contemporaries - Malevich, Kandinsky, Tatlin - are known throughout the world not only among art historians, but also to people who are even superficially interested in art. How did it happen that an artist of no lesser stature, who created an absolutely unique, inimitable style in painting, was almost unknown for decades?
