What is lost when a language becomes extinct? Belsetán, a centuries-old subset of the northern Spanish Aragonese dialect, has been classified an endangered language by UNESCO. In Maxi Campo’s compelling, heartfelt profile piece, we meet Ángel Luis Saludas, a brilliant linguist whose life’s work is a handwritten Belsetán dictionary that ‘Barre’, as he is affectionately known, adds to daily between tending to his small farm in the Aragonese Pyrenees. In addition to being a warm and lively screen presence, Saludas embodies the passion and drive needed to save not only a language, but the very culture from which it was born. Campo’s doco is now an integral part of keeping Belsetán alive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FULL REVIEW: https://screenspace.substack.com/p/spanish-reign-from-the-2025-evolution
