Drie oktoberfeesten

On October 3, 1574, the Relief of Leiden took place. The city managed to withstand the Spanish siege, which had begun in 1573. Leiden still celebrates this momentous event to this day. In 1931, too. The highlight then was the grand 'East and West' procession.
