The traces of absence

Francisco Santos embarks on a journey of remembrance through the figures of his four grandparents. In an archaeological quest through objects and voices that hold the traces of another time, Francisco grapples with the grief of his paternal grandparents' deaths and transforms his relationship with his maternal grandparents, who are still alive. His personal process leads him to question the role of images in the construction of memory, which ultimately leads him to the very heart of his passion for filmmaking.
