> It's just a matter of when, one to find his place to fit in. Nothing wrong to call it an another version of 'Spare Parts', but it dealt with a different subject. It is a biographical-sport film, about a running race team involving seven high school students from one of the poorest towns in America, McFarland. But the tale begins with the coach Jim White, who finally arrives with his family there after got fired frequently in the other cities. Not intended to stay for a long period, but he has no other choice. He finds hard to fit in the society and get along with his students, but he manages to get going when he forms a team for the upcoming cross-country running race. So their journey puts the small town on the map. A very inspiring film, not just sports personalities, but anyone

Well made, well acted. Hearty viewing. <em>'McFarland, USA'</em> sees Disney do a true story sports drama for what feels like the billionth time, but there's no disputing they sure do know how to create a wholesome and meaningful film for the genre; despite the clichés and predictability. This is no different, it's very good. Kevin Costner leads astutely as Jim White, while Carlos Pratts is the pick of the bunch when it comes to the younger guys. All of the latter, who play a group of runners that White coaches, are well cast in truth. I felt a connection to the story, thanks to the writing but also to them. I recently discovered this wonderful film that had somehow escaped my watchlist until now. Sometimes, trailers fail to capture the essence of a movie, leaving you unsure whether it would interest you or not. I had owned this film for some time, solely due to my collection of all things Disney, but it wasn't until I sat down with my son to watch it that I truly appreciated its heartwarming and engaging story. While not without its flaws, particularly in Disney's decision to omit a crucial fight scene, the film still manages to charm with its fun characters and beautiful family dynamics. The bond between the coach and players is a standout element, offering a great portrayal on screen. Although the story could have benefited from more emotion and better writing, overall, it was a ve
