**Beautiful women or silicon chips?** Set in a small California telephone exchange in the early 1980s, "The Young Like It Hot" revolves around a group of operators led by Loni (Hyapatia Lee), the Service Supervisor. The employees' job security is suddenly threatened when a rumor surfaces that the company plans to automate the service, replacing human employees with a cold, impersonal computer system. To prove to the manager and the Board of Directors that the human factor is irreplaceable, Loni and her colleagues (played by icons of the era such as Kay Parker, Shauna Grant, and Lili Marlene) decide to take "customer service" to a more intimate level while, in parallel, Loni hatches a complementary plan.
