The Rage: Carrie 2

This is both a weak sequel, but with a story hook to the first movie, as well as a simple retelling of the first movie. All this movie does is move the exact plot beats forward in time and updates the characters slightly. The late 90s were strange when you look at the culture. The rampant misogyny, fat shaming, conformist views were both accepted and also to be challenged in movies like this. It's shot in a very particular way that dates it incredibly hard and while the actors are doing the best they can with the material they were given it's simply a matter of the spirit of the age exacting its tribute and making this a far less interesting a movie than it could have been if it was made before or after. We already know what a good version of this movie is because it has already been done.
