Between hesitant whispers and various personal and family archive images, "Will this pain ever subside?" is a love letter sent by the director to her cousin and goddaughter, born nine years after the death of their grandmother, so that she will not forget this grandmother she never knew personally. It is a letter filled with sadness, pain, and mourning for the death of her grandmother, but also with joy for the affection preserved in memory. Marisa Alves Pedro starts with a question, but her letter is full of certainties. It is also a celebration of cinema as a way of filling the gaps in memory, of keeping feelings and emotions alive beyond time, but above all of helping to ease the pain.
