Álvaro Sarmiento Pagán

Álvaro Sarmiento is a documentary filmmaker and founder of HDPERU, an Indigenous collective dedicated to producing films that defend the rights of native peoples and promote environmental justice in Peru. Throughout his career, Álvaro has received several awards and grants, including those from the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center, the MacDowell Colony, The Yaddo Corporation, the IBERMEDIA Co-production Fund, and the Carolina Foundation Residency.
