In the future, love and freedom will be like a film.
Paulete, the star of a daring theater group, is visited by his military brother-in-law, the young Fininha. A torrid relationship arises between the two, and now the soldier must deal with the prevailing repression during the Brazilian military dictatorship.

This is a baudy, homophilic story of the struggle of art under autocratic, repressive, religious, censorious regimes. Oh wait - Isn't that nearly every government in the world? I'm giving this a 7 but I have a very strong suspicion that the release we saw has been cut to shreds. (Typical American distributions.) This won awards in the Rio IFF which is no small accomplishment, so it's probably an 8 or 9 in the original. Our version didn't clearly convey the political content of the film.
